Contaminants on painted surfaces

Polishing is the last stage when it comes to painting.

How much time does painter need to devote to this task depends on the quality of surface and quantity of contaminants that remain on it.

Mostly this is diligence and meticulousness which the whole process has been prepared with that decides how the surface looks like after painting.

The place in which we proceed with painting also play a crucial role. Nonetheless, we can have state of the art cab paint and the surfaces after painting still can be contaminated. Similar problems are encountered during OEM painting – this requires painter’s interference.

Thanks to complying standards recommended by manufacturer this phenomenon occurs very rarely. In case of refinishing painting - in order to avoid that type of problems in the future several fundamental rules need to be obeyed. First of all, where we paint is crucial.

If it is a cab paint, we need to keep the terms of air filters replacement according to the manufacturer's recommendations and their actual state. Moreover, the walls should be covered with a substance absorbing dust and other pollution from the air, the floor however, if there are no grates on the entire floor, at least it needs to clear . We can also connect the car body with grates by the use grounding. In places reserved for painting, no water should stand over. Hardeners absorb water, for water-borne bases, high humidity increases evaporation time.

Second - painting object Painted elements should be thoroughly cleaned and washed well also with the silicone remover. It is very important since not all products remove silicone residues, for instance gasoline extraction may not wash away all contamination, it can just spread them on the surface. It is always better to use anti-static cloth.

Third – the equipment Compressor and installation need to provide us with filtered air in sufficient quantity and quality. When cleaning spray guns do not try to pour thinner into air channels. To purge painted elements we use specially designed for this purpose guns. Painter needs to take care of proper clothing – an overall during painting. Immediately after grinding and without prior cleaning of clothes we can not enter the painting room.
